Ducati 900 Baines Imola 1996

Ducati 900 Baines Imola 1996

Baines Imola one of 40 hand built bikes.

Baines Racing had the idea to put a belt-drive engine in a lightweight frame so that it resembled the Ducati 900 Supersport but was more reliable. It emulates the style and nimble feel of the bevel drives while combining the performance, reliability and relative simplicity of a modern belt drive motorcycle. Based on the 900 Supersport built in 1996 and executed in the Imola colour scheme.

The 904cc motor was upgraded with 11.5:1 compression and Arias race pistons, bearings and seals. Rear wheel HP is around 80 however the bike is around 40 kg lighter than a stock 900SS which makes it a lot quicker in acceleration and handling.
